The Microsystems Technology Laboratories (MTL) Annual Research Report 2004-2005 edition was released today.
The report spans five major areas of research within MTL: Circuits and Systems, Emerging Technologies, Photonics, MEMS, and Molecular and Nanotechnology. The report contains "research abstracts from faculty and senior staff whom are associated with the MTL," says Professor Martin Schmidt, MTL Director, in the report's introduction. The contributors "come from more than 30 different departments, labs, and centers across the Institute."
The Microsystems Technology Laboratories (MTL) at MIT is an interdepartmental laboratory supporting research and education in micro- and nano- systems. MTL was established in the mid-1980s inside the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department. Over the years, MTL has evolved and grown into an Interdepartmental laboratory reporting to the Dean of the School of Engineering, reaching across the entire Institute.
